RESIDENCY

Carlson/Brantley Residency

This intention of this project is to provide space for socially engaged artists, writers and change catalysts to spend time with themselves: to intervene on and develop self.

The designated resident will receive room and board (in addition to a small stipend for reading materials and travel).

The residency is named in honor of John W. Carlson and Carol A. Brantley.

John Carlson was an artist, musician, educator and lifelong learner. He exhibited his work throughout the Great Lakes Region, nationally and internationally. John explored what it meant to be human, in particular, the materiality of grief.

Carol Brantley was a consultant, educator and mentor to many. She was Associate Executive Director of NTL Institute for Applied Behavioral Science, Director of Operations at Elsie Y. Cross & Associates and an affiliate consultant with the Kaleel Jamison Consulting Group. Carol was fiercely committed to her personal and professional development and social justice; encouraged and created space for people to engage in self-care.
